The world
Somewhere beyond the ordinary world there are schools where magic is taught like any other subject: potions in the morning, spellwork after lunch, and a great deal of homework about things that ought to stay hidden.
Three doors lead into this world. They are separate rooms with their own sets and puzzles, and they can be played in any order.
The first door
Perth CBD · Sydney CBD · Brisbane CBD in the first half of 2027
A circle of dark magicians, the Sorcerers of the Dark Side, has spent years chasing a life without end. Only one obstacle stands in their way: the formula for an immortality elixir, kept in the private sanctum of the castle’s Headmaster.
Tonight the sorcerers are coming for it, and the Headmaster has chosen a handful of students to slip into the sanctum ahead of them, find the formula and destroy it. The walls will hold for sixty minutes.
The second door
Manly
For five hundred years a single enchantment, the Founders’ Spell, has kept our world sealed off from the Shadow Realm. Now a Blood Eclipse has turned the sky the colour of rust, and the old warding is starting to give way.
Headmistress Selene summons her apprentices for one last examination: find the artefacts the founders left behind and use them to restore the spell before the darkness pours through. Escape This presents it as the sequel to The Wizard’s Chamber.
The third door
Melbourne CBD
Your first day was supposed to be orientation. Instead your professor vanishes in the middle of class, and the lecture hall seals itself behind powerful enchantments.
Somewhere on campus is an artefact strong enough to break the magic that holds him. Your only guide is Corvus, the professor’s watchful owl, and nothing at this university is quite what it appears to be.

Legend has it
Selene’s journal says the Blood Eclipse rises at the start of every examination, without fail. It is the only punctual thing in the academy.
First half of 2027

Escape This plans to open The Wizard’s Chamber at its Brisbane CBD venue.
Opening dates come from Escape This’s booking system. Legends come from the staffroom, the diaries and the Scroll, and are only as true as they say.
