A Second Sanctum in Sydney
Friday. Disaster. The Headmaster has built a second sanctum on the far side of the country, on George Street in Sydney, and it opened its doors today.
I flew over at once. Not on a broomstick: on an aeroplane, in a middle seat, between a man eating egg sandwiches and a child who wanted to know why I was wearing a hood indoors. I told her I was a Sorcerer of the Dark Side. She asked for my autograph. I gave it to her. One must build a following.
The new sanctum is a fresh build, not a copy carted across the Nullarbor: the same tale, the same castle walls, the same infuriating formula, all made anew. It is a short walk from Town Hall station, which is convenient for students and, I suppose, for sorcerers.
So now there are two castles, more than three thousand kilometres apart, and two lots of students destroying the same formula in two time zones. Crumpet suggests I pick one. Crumpet does not understand ambition.
